About and Goals of RISE
RISE has been created as a social impact program to benefit ALL individuals, the environment and the community as a whole.
The skills used in RISE will include, renewal, both of oneself and close associations. Inspiration, to reach past current condition and the purging of toxic negativity. Support, using acceptance, careful listening skills, positive reinforcement and being part of a group. Empowerment, to redirect life’s path in a new and positive direction. Using these tools we are providing, will affect a change beyond the individual, resulting in a community win.
RISE will provide weekly meetings which will include healthy food and snack options and child care, at no cost to parents. Also, focus group discussions and new skills will be taught, to assist individuals to motivate positive change while navigating day to day concerns.
While child care will be provided, RISE Youth group will be a viable program in itself, providing personal safety awareness, hands on indoor/outdoor skill building, social interaction and community involvement. We have a dedicated group of team leaders that have volunteered to work with the Youth.
Since RISE will be hosting all individuals, the needs in the community will be varied and anticipated, of large proportion. Considering the current socio-economic climate, we anticipate the funding needs of RISE will change dramatically once the program flourishes.
RISE understands that to survive, we must come out of isolation. We need thoughtful, sustained engagement and positive relationships not only individually, but as a community. We plan to respond to this need with events that will create a memorable experience and can be enjoyed by the very young through and including the senior population.
Long and short term needs of RISE have been identified and can be discussed individually, upon contact.
The RISE team, is made up of knowledgeable, talented community leaders, who are committed and dedicated to providing the skills of renewal, inspiration, support and empowerment. The value of these skills will provide the knowledge and tools needed to build more solid foundations in the lives of the men, women and children in our communities.
Note:
Individuals will be referred to skilled professionals when the need is identified beyond the scope of the social impact group.
Community wise, RISE will provide events, both large and small to rally individuals and children out of isolation, while taking advantage of participation in some wholesome fun.
RISE Up Men's
Taking inspiration from the works of two titans of the modern men's movement, Robert Bly's Iron John and Patrick Arnold's Wild Men, Warriors, and Kings, RISE Up Men will explore eight classic types of men that you have encountered repeatedly in myth, story, and song even if you haven't recognized it. Is your type more like a sage? A protector? A healer? An explorer? A jester? A prophet? A wild man? A friend? We're all unique and none of us match any "type" perfectly. Yet I bet one or more of these classic masculine types will resonate with you. As we investigate them together and see how we're reflected in them, you will rise up from where you are and live life more fully and authentically. Men will meet to learn and discuss these types during our RISE Up gatherings
